What FNG covers
These days FNG is about what AI really costs in Australia, and how to pay less for it. That includes but not limiting to:
- what AI subscriptions like ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini cost in Australian dollars, including GST and bank fees
- what AI APIs cost per token, for anyone building apps or automations
- straight comparisons and practical ways to cut the bill
- Whatever else gets my interest at any particular time

A bit about me
I started this blog in 2022 while setting up my own email server on a spare laptop, I figured I may as well host a blog too. I still run my own server (now hosted) and build my own automations with tools like n8n.
I studied security studies at uni through Open Learning, which is why you’ll find older posts on intelligence, OSINT and cyber security in the archive, along with Sydney life, backyard chickens and the odd recipe.
How I check prices
- Prices come straight from each provider’s official pricing page, checked from an Australian connection so they show what Australians actually pay.
- Where a provider only lists US dollars, I convert at the Reserve Bank of Australia’s exchange rate and say which day’s rate I used.
- Every guide shows a Prices last checked date at the top, and I re-check the prices every month.
- Sources are listed at the bottom of every guide, so you can check them yourself.
- Spotted a price that’s changed? Message me on Facebook and I’ll fix it eventually.
How I use AI
I use AI tools to help research and draft posts. Prices and facts come from the providers’ own pages and the other sources I cite, and I review every post before it goes live.

Everything on FNG is general information, not financial or tax advice. For GST or financial questions about your own situation, for gods sake talk to your accountant. I hope FNG will earn some money one day through ads, affiliate links or sponsored posts. When it does, they’ll be clearly labelled, and the prices I report will still come from the providers’ own pages.
